ABOUT US

OUR STORY

The spark for Fields of Hope began, as so many calls to action have, from a place of darkness.
After Aminadab had the opportunity to move to the United States from Mexico to play soccer, he established a life and a family in his new country. In January of 2015, while Aminadab was coaching soccer, one of his daughters, Naomi Grace, passed away in a tragic accident. The sudden nature of the incident, combined with the deep respect the city had for Aminadab and his role in so many facets of the Fort Collins community, instantly brought together divergent groups throughout town, including soccer teams, teachers city-wide, students of all ages, and citizens of varying backgrounds, faiths, and ethnicities. The outpouring was remarkable; for months, the family was provided everything from food to funds, toys to trinkets. Strangers stepped up, despite not knowing the family personally, and pink popped brightly from the shirts of those attending sporting events and school functions to honor Naomi. This emanation of support moved Aminadab and his family so powerfully that they decided to pay tribute to her life and legacy by finding purpose again through helping other communities in need. Because Aminadab felt deeply the effects of those who were moved to help him during this time of darkness, he hopes to take that spark forward, in remembrance of Naomi and all that his family experienced, through Fields of Hope.
